Michael Hampton – President

Michael Hampton was elected to the Elkhart ISD School Board in May 2009. He currently serves as Board President and previously was Board Secretary. He has been married to Doni for 22 years and they have three children: Reed, a 2010 Elkhart graduate, Ryan, a sophomore at Elkhart High, and Julianne, a 7^th grader at Elkhart Middle School. He is employed at East Texas National Bank as Vice President. He also serves on the Anderson County Youth Livestock Assoc. board as Treasurer. Michael attended Tyler Junior College and Texas A&M University.

Stephen Ham – Secretary

I am a 1988 graduate of Elkhart High School and have been married to my wife, Tammy Ham, for 20 years.  I have served on the Elkhart ISD School Board for 7 years and have two children that attend Elkhart ISD.  My daughter, Amanda, attends Elkhart High and my son Justin attends Elkhart Elementary.  I have been employed by the State of Texas at the Coffield Unit for 21 years and I am the Field Lieutenant at Coffield.  I am a Texas Longhorn Fan!!!  I thank God every day for my Savior Jesus Christ and for my family.  Remember (John 3:16).

Paul Barnett

Harold Holloway

Harold Holloway graduated from Elkhart in 1991.  After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and worked in the communications field.  While serving, he completed his education at The Community College of the Air Force and then Louisiana Tech.  In 1997, he went to work for AT&T as a Network Manager in the computer operations group of the IT department in Houston.  He currently holds the position of Manager - Network Operations for the East Texas area for AT&T.  Harold and his wife, Melody, have two daughters that attend Elkhart Elementary.  He and his family are active members of First Baptist Church, Palestine.

Charles McShan  

Charles R. McShan is married to his high school sweetheart, Sharon (Ferguson) McShan.  They have four children and nineteen grand-children.Retired with 29 years Military, Retired Postmaster Palestine, TX

GOAL A            Provide clear and open lines of communication that promote district pride and increase school ownership among staff, students, parents and community members.

GOAL B            Maintain uniform high standards in all educational and financial accountability components.

GOAL C            Implement district policies, procedures and a long-range facilities plan that accommodate student growth within a safe well-maintained learning environment.

GOAL D            Prepare students for enhanced post-graduate education and career opportunities through relevant and individualized education programs and improved technology applications and infrastructure.

GOAL E            Continue to promote staff morale and maintain staff retention rates through district incentives.
